Avila Beach Farmers Market
San Luis Obispo County is blessed with over a dozen Farmers Markets held year round, and several more that are held only during the summer months. Most of the produce and flowers sold were grown within 5o miles of Avila Beach - It doesn’t get any fresher than this.
It is possible to enjoy a one or more year-round Farmers Markets every day of the week near Avila Beach. The oldest, most famous and largest market is held every Thursday night in downtown San Luis Obispo, just a few miles away. As one of the oldest in California, this Farmers Market also offers great free music entertainment and booths, food vendors and more.
Avila Beach has a very popular Farmers Market that is held every Friday afternoon from early April until the end of September. This market - held along the ocean front Promenade and just steps from the Inn at Avila Beach - offers about 20 food vendors, as well as great free entertainment, a bounce house for the kids, and many food stands. Nearby restaurants and wine tasting rooms offer sidewalk dining options so that you can enjoy the entertainment and people watch while enjoying the ocean views.
The nearby Avila Valley is a source of great apples in Fall, as well as wine. (The wine is available for tasting year round.) The nearby Avila Valley Barn is a great place to enjoy local produce, fresh-baked items and gourmet foods from May until December. It also often offers a petting zoo for kids, as well a U-Pick pumpkin patch / hay ride in the fall.
